Director, Channel Strategy (Toronto/Montreal/Ottawa/Vancouver/Calgary)

Our Global B2B professional services client (not software) is hiring a Director, Channel Strategy reporting to the CMO.

The Director will be responsible for strategic communications & content planning and channel development ensuring maximum effectiveness and reach working directly with senior leadership to grow and foster continued innovation.


Please note: hybrid work environment with 3 days working in the office required.

The Director will be responsible for Communications, Events and Digital Marketing, as well as leading a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop the overall communications & content strategies and looking for effective channels to optimize content and messaging
  • Develop a strategic plan for events supporting the company’s strategic goals and KPIs
  • Develop channel marketing strategies specifically with a focus on digital marketing working in conjunction with the larger marketing and business development teams
  • Look for opportunities to innovate and develop best practices as well as being the subject matter expert in digital marketing
  • Define measurable ROI objectives, track, analyze and report on all campaign effectiveness including digital analytics
  • Maintain and provide oversight to external agency relationships
  • Identify and deliver multiple market development initiatives annually and an editorial calendar
  • Ensure all plans are integrated and leverage each one’s focus and objectives cohesively
  • Have an in-depth understanding and analysis of the company’s audiences and competitive landscape

Requirements:
  • Relevant degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field
  • 15+ years experience in B2B marketing, communications, and/or business development, in the B2B marketing and professional services industry.
  • Specific experience with digital marketing and channel marketing initiatives
  • Understanding how to deliver integrated content & communications to a varied audience
  • Knowledge of market positioning, campaign development and execution, marketing technology and digital marketing
  • Experience framing and collaboratively solving complex problems through creative problem-solving in a team-based environment
  • Ability to work in and manage cross-functional teams to deliver demonstratable business value
  • Bilingualism an asset but not required
  • Past experience managing substantial projects with large teams, either from project inception to implementation or involving significant performance demonstrating collaboration, critical thinking and project management skills
  • Experience leading and being a trusted advisor as well as working closely with senior leadership
  • Proactive and collaborative attitude with true understanding of the agility needed to capitalize on the changing market conditions
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset but not required
